David Monastra, Director has been in practice since 1991. David has thirty eight years experience in Quantity Surveying, having trained and worked seven years with the Wellington Education Board Cost Planning office, seven years with a private firm of Quantity Surveyors and twenty four years in own practice.
Peter Verceolen joined the practice in 2016. Peter brings with him 43 years experience in Quantity Surveying having trained five years with the Ministry of Works & 38 years in private practice. Peter was a part time tutor at the Open Polytechnic for 18 years and spent 8 years in Australia working on major projects.
Barry’s career in construction began with a builder’s apprenticeship in July 1983, transitioning from ‘on the tools’ work into quantity surveying in the late 90’s. Over the last 20 years he has held various QS, PM, management and consulting roles gaining significant experience in commercial, civil, infrastructure and industrial sectors. His specialty areas include feasibility advice, cost planning & estimating. He also has a good depth of experience in Asset Management, (condition assessment, whole of life costing & reinstatement estimates), Risk Based estimating, Sustainability and High Performance buildings. Until June 2019 Barry served as President of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors and on various construction related committees including The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors Standards Committee and Weltec’s School of Built Environment Industry Partnership Committee. Barry joined Monastra QS Consultants in October 2019.
